Why I Enlisted in the Marine Corps

I Enlisted in the Marine Corps for many reasons, for the benefits, the experiences and many more.

The Marine Corps has a saying “once a Marine always a Marine”, this is because once you earn the title you have overcome the toughest basic training in the world, and I want to be able to say I have done that that I’m one of the best.

Also the Marine Corps is by far the smallest branch of the military in the U.S this creates a strong sense of comradely, and a sense of Brotherhood from what I have seen Marines have very close bonds with fellow Marines and I want to have that kind of friendships and to be a part of something bigger than myself.

Another reason is the fact that others think I won’t make it, I want to prove them wrong and show them I’m better than them, and I have had many family members in the military, my Great Grandpa who served in the army air core(before it was the Air Force) in WW2, my Grandpa who served in the army in Vietnam, my great Uncle, and my Grandpa who served in the Navy as well as my Stepdad who is an active Duty in the Navy and my Older Brother who is an active duty in the Army.

I want to continue with that tradition but I want to be the first Marine in my family.

I want to better myself, I want to up hold the core values of honor courage and commitment and to instill discipline and to overall try to change  myself for the better, and on top of Personal Development the Military also offers many other benefits.
