Ritz was invented on November 21, 1934. Ritz crackers were debuted by the company Nabisco. The recipe for Ritz Crackers took over a century to perfect, with the biscuit recipe of retired sea captain John Bent in 1801. The original ritz crackers were originally 19 cents a box.

Ritz Crackers are made with sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and partially hydrogenated oils. A single serving provides 80 calories, 0 grams of fat, 10 grams of carbohydrate, 1 gram of sugar and 1 gram of protein. There are about 35 crackers in one sleeve of Ritz they are sold individually by sleeves or in a group of 5 or 6 sleeves as well as fresh stacks sleeves packs that carry 13 crackers. They are even sold in mini cracker form.

Ritz comes in variety such as Original Ritz, Low Sodium Ritz, Reduced Fat Ritz, Whole Wheat Ritz, Honey Wheat Ritz, Roasted Vegetable Ritz, Bacon Ritz, Garlic Butter Ritz, Honey Butter Ritz, Hint of Salt Ritz, cheese Ritz, and peanut butter Ritz.
