Pride month is to celebrate everyone who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community and people who still need to come out. Pride month started June 1969 as a result to recognize the impact LGBTQIA+ people had in the world. There are two different dates, there is a date to celebrate coming out day, which is on October 11, pride month is all of June. To some people, Pride month is to raise political awareness of current issues facing the community. There are many street parties that celebrate pride month. New York is one of the biggest parades there is to celebrate pride month. Over 500,000 people participate in the parades. The purpose of a pride parade is outdoor celebrations to celebrate every LGBTQIA+  community. People get married, get proposed, or even get asked to be someone’s girlfriend/ boyfriends on pride month. Washington, DC, San Diego, Germany, Mexico City, Spain, Greece, Switzerland, and Israel are the places where they throw the biggest and amazing pride parades.
