Wild Cats

Wildcats can be found in European forests and the African inhabitants can be found in Northen desserts near the middle East. This wildcats evolved about 866,000 to 480,000 years ago from their direct ancestor Felis lunensis. Their population is estimated to exceed 20,000 mature individuals. They are very similar to a domestic cat but with longer legs and a more robust build. They have a life span of 13-14 years in the wild, males can weight 11-18 lbs. while females can weight 6.6-11 lbs. Their biggest threats are diseases, deforestation, and humans hunting them.Image result for wildcat
