Daycare on Campus

Ariana Juarez, Contributor

Hueneme High School is one of many HS in California to count with a day care facility inside the campus.

These services are provide through CAL-SAFE.

The Cal-SAFE Program became operational through the California Department of Education in July 2000,

It was designed to increase the availability of support services necessary for enrolled expectant or parenting students to improve academic achievement and parenting skills.

As well as provide a quality child care and development program for their children from the age of 8 Weeks until their parent graduates.

In my experience at  CAL-SAFE it has been one of the best support that anyone could offer since becoming a student and parent at the same time.

They provide good care for kids and their always able to help with any necessity that you may have.

Students can attend as a regular student to school every day or they can take weekly classes which consist in coming every week to school and work on assignments this program is also offered to regular students.

By the time you graduate high school they help you get daycare outside the school or in the California Community Colleges if you are interested in going to one and the transition could be more easy and secure for you and your child.
