Mechanical Engineers

Geuri Higuera

Mechanical engineers design power-producing machines such as electric generators, internal combustion engines, and steam and gas turbines, as well as power-using machines such as refrigeration and air conditioning systems.  Mechanical Engineers use computers extensively because the technology helps them create and analyze designs, run simulations and test how a machine is likely to work.

To become a Mechanical Engineer, you need to have at least a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology. As of 2017, the median yearly pay for a mechanical engineer is around $86,000 which is the same as $42.00 an hour. There are around 288,000 jobs available for mechanical engineers so if your dream is to become one, then I would recommend to go ahead and do it because this career pays very good money and it requires a lot of skills and knowledge.
