The Career Expo is an event that is meant to expose and give insight of different careers/occupations to students, this event has been going on for 14 plus years, and is available to all classes. In addition to exposing careers to students, some career stands offer internships to help the students figure out if the job fits what they are looking for. At the entrance of the Career Expo they gave out a paper that the students could fill out for a raffle, and luckily 3 Hueneme High students won! Here is what two of them had to say about the event.

What grade are you in?

Tristan “T-Bird” Brown: “12th Grade”

Max Lopez: “11th Grade”

Was this your first Career Expo event?

Tristan “T-Bird” Brown: “Yes this was my first career event”

Max Lopez: “Yes”

Was it what you expected? Why or why not?

Tristan “T-Bird” Brown: “Not really because I thought there was going to be jobs such as McDonald’s, Starbucks, Jack in the Box, and jobs like that”

Max Lopez: “I didn’t know what to expect”

What were the top two careers that interested you? Why?

Tristan “T-Bird” Brown: “Well the career i’m interested in wasn’t there but the careers that were pretty nice were the rangers and the police”

Max Lopez: “Mechanical Engineering and ranger because I like being hands on”

Are you glad you went to this event?

Tristan “T-Bird”  Brown: “I’m glad I went because I got more knowledge and was open to more career paths”
