The Ferrari of the Animal Kingdom!

Geuri Higuera, Contributor

The cheetah is is known for being the fastest animal in the animal kingdom. With an acceleration that would leave most sports cars in the dust, a cheetah can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 3 seconds! Before using their insane speed, cheetahs use their incredible eyesight to try and locate their prey (mostly antelopes and hares).

When cheetahs think it’s time to make the move, the cheetah will sprint at its prey and jump on it trying to make it fall down. If they’re successful, the cheetah will hide the animal under a shady place to prevent other animals from finding their food. Cheetahs only drink only once every three to four days. Male cheetahs live alone or in small groups while the female cheetahs learn how to hunt from their mothers. In reality, cheetahs are only huge cats that can’t roar. Morality rates for cheetah cubs in Africa run as high as 95 percent. Most wild cheetahs live in eastern and western Africa
