During The Korean War U.N. forces had pushed back North Korean Forces, but communist China’s unexpected entry into the War turned the tide.

At Chosin Reservoir, the 1st Marine Division was surrounded and outnumbered 8-to-1 by the Chinese army. The worst weather in 50 years cut off air support and the Marines had to deal with snow, wind and temperatures of -40 degrees F. Even then, the Marines of the 1st Division decimated 10 Chinese infantry divisions and fought their way back to the sea to rejoin the American forces and were known as “The Chosin Few”. The Marines at Chosin Reservoir had faced the worse weather and terrain then any other Marines had ever had to face
