The California flag

Leobardo Rodriguez, Contributor

The California flag is probably the most popular state flag. This flag has been on so many shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants, and mugs. The story of this flag is pretty cool. It was made by a man named William Todd. The flags actual name is the Bear flag due the gigantic bear right in the middle of it. It was adopted by the state in February 3 1911.

Most people don’t  know that the star on the top left corner has a meaning behind it. That star was placed there to kinda impersonate the Texas lone star. There was a previous bear star flag but it wasn’t a good as this one. The five color on the flag are Irish green, white, seal, maple sugar, and old glory red.
