What Is Developmental Psychology?

Developmental psychology is a scientific approach which aims to explain growth, change and consistency though the lifespan. Developmental psychology looks at how thinking, feeling, and behavior change throughout a person’s life.

The reason I write about what developmental psychology is because I believe there is a lot to be learned with it when looking at why people become depressed or why people become suicidal. I believe that there is a lot of answers to be found by understanding what affected a person and what caused a person to become the way they are.

For example, when you look at people who turn out to be serial killers, you sit and wonder what could have possibly caused them to commit such atrocities. Well, when you look and study what a person as such went through as a child you can learn a lot about what influenced him or her to take the path they did.

So In conclusion, you can understand a lot about why people make certain choices by understanding what they went through when they were younger.
