In July 25 and 26 in 1985 Ireland and Kilkenny were both affected by this strong weather especially, Kilkenny that’s when all hell broke loose. Strong rain and hail came pouring down to Kilkenny for long as 30-60 minutes. Hitting midnight a big dark cloud full of lighting hit to ground and when it stopped you may think it’s over but it’s not another dark cloud was behind the first cloud and lighting and rain began 49.7 inches of rain was recorded. Many crops were destroyed, many buildings were also damaged, and a bunch of farm animals were killed by lighting strikes. This storm made history and it may come back to hit the same place or maybe hit in a different location?
