How To Wear Glitter Without Killing The Environment

A study shows that there are reported links between glitter and ocean-pollution. “Glitter is made from plastic sheets” said science journalist Laura Parker, “When washed down the drain, it is consumed by most ocean life such as plankton, fish, shellfish and seabirds.”

These plastic bits collect in bird’s stomachs, where they can cause them to die of starvation. Consider swapping out “normal” glitter for biodegradable glitter!!

Although they are a bit pricier, it helps everyone alike. They’re tons of options for using this glitter such as for your hair, for eyeshadow looks, and for festivals as well.

Brands like Lush Cosmetics and Bio-Glitter use eco-friendly synthetic mica, mineral glitter and starch-based lusters in their shimmery products and use compostable glitter from a shiny biodegradable film.

By just switching out this small thing it will be a huge environmental impact of micro plastics on the world’s oceans.
