The University of California San Diego  was built in 1903 originally as Scripps institution of oceanography. The institution first offered ocean and earth science research programs then extended to physics, chemistry, geology, biology and climate of earth.

When Scripps institution became apart of the university of California in 1912, it was one of the oldest and largest campus for earth science research in the world.

The University of California San Diego wasn’t officially established until 1960. They offer 200 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. Enrolling about 28,000 undergraduates and 7,000 graduate students.

The campus is spread across 2,141 acres in northern San Diego, California. Their school colors are navy blue and gold & mascot is King Triton. The school provides free transportation to students and staff.

UCSD is best known for its majors is Biology, General; Economics, Computer Engineering, ; Psychology, general; Communication and Media Studies.

The University’s motto is fait lux in Latin. In English it means “let there be light”. The campus has a direct path to the beach. The Acceptance rate is 35.9 .
