It has been more than a decade since the first PlayStation 3 was presented. This console was heavy and bulky, the gaming community despised it.

This Old PlayStation 3 had a special characteristic that the new consoles didn’t have. This was the ability to operate with different Operating Systems (Linux or Unix-based).

After the new “slim” PS3 was released, you couldn’t install a different operating system due to security reasons.

The customers were mad this couldn’t be done with their new consoles. This resulted in a lawsuit until an agreement was reached in 2016.

When this first occurred you were able to exchange your old console for $55, but the price recently rose to $65. The deadline is April 15 to submit a “claim form”.
