2 Teens Detained for Planning Mass Shooting
October 6, 2021
Two students from Harns Marsh Middle School are under supervision by authorities at a juvenile detention center for allegedly conspiring to carry out a mass shooting. After a teacher was informed by a student that one of the students possibly be carrying a gun, authorities were called and searched the pair, but no weapons were found.
“However, a map of the school was located. The map contained markings indicating the location of each of the school’s interior cameras,” Marceno told reporters. After some serious investigation by authorities, they learned that the two have been “extensively studying” the Columbine shooting, where two teens went on a shooting spree. They killed 13 people and wounded more than 20 others before turning their guns on themselves and committing suicide.
They learned that the two have been looking for ways to buy weapons and attempting to learn how to make pipe bombs. After obtaining search warrants to search their house, authorities found multiple knives and guns. The authorities said both boys “are well known to deputies, as we have responded to their homes for almost 80 times combined.”
