SeaHawks vs 49ers recap 2019

Cesar Rangel, contributor

The Seattle Seahawks played against the San Francisco 49ers in Santa Clara, California. Both teams are in the NFC West division, with the 49ers leading the division with an 8-0 record and the Seahawks right behind them with a 7-2 record. There was tension between the two teams and everyone felt it. The 49ers went in undefeated and were looking toward continuing being undefeated. The Seahawks came into the game to upset San Francisco and give them their first loss of the season. Both defenses were outstanding as the offenses felt their presence. The 49ers defense intercepted the ball in the RedZone in the opening possession of overtime, which was a spectacular play to help them score and win, but their offense couldn’t capitalize. They also had a crucial forced fumble on the 2-yard line. The Seahawks were also on fire, they only allowed 3.2 yards a carry and had sacked Jimmy Garoppolo 5 times. Also, one of the Seahawks defensive linemen, Jadeveon Clowney, was an absolute machine: recovered a fumble for a 10 yd touchdown, a strip-sack for another touchdown opportunity, and had 5 quarterback hits. Both kickers of the team were very important playmakers of the game. The San Francisco 49ers kicker was Chase McLoughlin, who is a rookie subbed in for Robbie Gould who is out with a leg injury. The Seattle Seahawks had Jason Myers as their kicker. McLoughlin missed a field goal very badly earlier in the game but made it up when he tied the game 24-24 with 1 second left in the 4th quarter. Both defenses again were outstanding, they both made the other team have to punt on 4th down in overtime. Then the Seahawks get the ball, they drive it downfield with Russel Wilson and D.K. Metcalf, then with the game on the line, Jason Myers makes game-winning field goal leaving the 49ers with a new 8-1 record and the Seahawks with an 8-2 record.
