What Is Depression?

Depression can be the cause of many reasons. People suffer depression from a loss of a family member, or getting bullied, even cyber bullied. Being depressed can cause feeling hopeless, sad, empty, even feeling as if nobody is there for you. If this depression lasts up to more than two weeks then it’s called “major depression”. When people are depressed for more than two weeks it’s a mild or severe condition. People with major depression can get physical symptoms such as pain, illness, and digestive problems. Dysthemia is a milder form of depression. Dysthemia can last up to two years in adults. When children or teens are depressed for more than a year its called “persistent depressive disorder”. Many children, adults, and teens suffer over depression for many reasons.
