Penguins are birds that aren’t similar to the birds we see every day. They don’t fly like most birds and they are used to living in very cold places. These are some interesting facts that you probably didn’t know about them:

• The Galapagos species is the only penguin that dares to travel north of the equator.
• Most penguins live in the Southern Hemisphere.
• Penguins can drink sea water.
• Half of the time, penguins are underwater.
• The Emperor Penguin is the tallest penguin reaching 47 inches in height.
• Little Blue Penguins are the smallest penguins with only 13 inches in height.
• Hoiho, also known as yellow-eyed penguins, are endangered with a population of 4000
• While swimming, the black makes it hard for them to be spotted from the top and the white side makes it seem like the sun is just reflecting with the water.
