One of the Bloodiest battles of the Vietnam War the battle of Hue was 33 days long in the winter of 1968,

The battle of Hue was a brutal close quarters urban battle against north Vietnamese and viet Cong forces. do to this urban environment Marines had to retake the city block by block and these tactic were used 35 years later in Fallujah

During the battle both sides suffered heavy loses And many of the ancient buildings were damaged or destroyed but despite this U.S. forces took back the city

The Battle started when the viet cong launched the tet offensive against many military and civilian targets the tet offensive was launched on the Vietnamese lunar new year and violated the cease fire that was agreed on during the event
