This past weekend Hueneme High school’s Varsity football team played against Fillmore High school’s Varsity football team for our homecoming game. Unfortunately we lost with the final score ending up at 28 – 14. Overall it was a good team effort and the team should not be discouraged because of this loss; after all, it is only their first loss and they still have a chance to make it into the finals if they win their upcoming games against Santa Clara High, Santa Paula High, and Nordoff High. Though a loss, the experience of being there at the bleachers and supporting the Vikings was still definitely worth it. The crowds were alive, many got asked to homecoming, and there was even a spectacular fireworks show at half time followed by the marching band.
