Like other high schools, Hueneme has an assortment of clubs; there’s M.E.C.H.A, the cooking club, Bible club, or you can even make up your own club if none of the others interest you. One of the clubs that Hueneme has to offer is the gardening club, one that many may not know about but it’s here! In this club you learn how to tend to a garden and most importantly, this club is in charge of Hueneme’s garden which is located on campus by the softball field.  In this club, you learn about responsibility and hard work. Meetings aren’t a weekly worry. There’s a schedule as to who and when you have to go and work in the garden, other than that the club meets once a month. If you are thinking about joining this club you have to be comfortable with getting dirty because tending to the garden can get really messy! Overall it’s a fun club so if you’re interested you should talk to Mr. Newman in room 26!
