  • The Koi fish originally brought from Japan to be eaten but the Japanese farmers noticed the bright colors on them and decided to breed them.
  •  In 1914 someone gifted a Koi fish to the Japanese emperor and gain the worlds popularity.
  • Koi fish are extremely intelligent and are very adaptable, the can be found all over the world.
  • “Big Girl” is 4 ft long and 91 pounds hold the record for the largest Koi fish and “Hanako” is the oldest being born in 1791 to 1977 aging him to be 226 years old.
  • There is 24 different variations of the Koi fish & they can represent persistence and determination.
