The Great Barrier Reef Ceasing To Exist

There have been many different bleaching that has happened three times already, but in the year of 2017, it has been known as the worst of them all. Scientists say that it’s been caused by global warming.

In 2016 the northern side of the reef was badly damaged, but in 2017 it was mostly focused in the middle part of the reef.

Although the reef can return back to its normal state, the data shown may lead the corals to its final moments.

Mia Hoogenboom has said that she worked on some of the corals that are a bit more resistant to bleaching. There was a chance for a part of the reef to be saved but by March a Cyclone has landed into a section of the reef which made it hard for it to recover.

“Scientists have said that about 90 percent of the reef had sustained some form of damage.”
