Facts About Sleep Paralysis

Sleep Paralysis is when a person is awake but find themselves unable to move or speak. Sleep Paralysis shouldn’t be confused with night terrors. People who wake up to night terrors are often unaware of their surroundings and not know where they are.

1. No matter how hard you try, even if you know that you’re undergoing a sleep paralysis, you can’t wake your body up.

Some people can slightly can slightly move their fingers or facial muscles, which eventually helps them wake up the rest of their bodies. But a majority of people have said it helps to wait this out.

2. These can also hallucinations and reported nightmares.

Because unlike the visuals or lucid dreaming which occurs when eyes are closed. True visuals and auditory hallucinations during sleep paralysis are relatively rare. But many patients report feeling a strange or scary presence in the room.

4.There is no notable cause for sleep paralysis

Stress,depression, and certain prescription medications, and more recently, an inherently genes have all been leaked to sleep paralysis. But while research shows associations, there is no clear cause of sleep paralysis.

5.Avoiding sleep paralysis

Sleep deprivation can either be measured in quantity or quality, so having a longer sleep can help tremendously. So if sleep paralysis is something you can deal with make sure you’re getting enough sleep.
