April 30, 2018
These players that will be mentioned are not ranked on their performances while at Duke, they will be ranked on their performance after they left Duke and where they rank in the NBA’s All Time greats.
1. Kyrie Irving
He is known to have some of the best handles and is also a great finisher under the rim. He was drafted in 2011 1st round 1st pick by the Cleveland Cavaliers but was traded this last off season to the Boston Celtics. He averages 22 points 5 assist and 3 rebounds as his career stats. Kyrie is a very dominant player when it comes to offense and that is because he is able to get around players with just a single crossover. So far from all the players that have come out of Duke he has proved to be the one with the highest potential to be at the top of his position of point guard.
2. Grant Hill
Grant Hill was mostly known for his leadership skills. Those leadership skills were the reasons why he was so successful throughout his career. His teammates and coaches liked him because he had a very strong winning attitude. He was selected 3rd in the first round by the Detroit Pistons. While in the NBA he put up incredible stats for a small forward. He is known to be one of the greatest small forwards to ever play the game of basketball.
3. J.J. Redick
J.J. Redick is best known for his ability to shoot the ball when left slightly open. He plays both point guard and shooting guard and he can get in a roll really fast. He is a hot shooter from the 3 point line but he also has a very good mid range shooting that can hurt the defense of other teams. He has played for 5 different teams throughout his career. He was selected in the 1st round 11th pick by the Orlando Magic. He has plenty of years left for him in the NBA and when he is finished he will be recognized as one of the best shooting guards to ever play the game.
