Two Men Arrested at Starbucks
April 20, 2018
Two black men were arrested at Starbucks in Philadelphia when apparently they were accused of trespassing and disturbance. Both men were there for a meeting and was waiting for the person whom was scheduled for them to meet with.
Both men have meetings all the time at Starbucks. When they were asked if they were getting anything both declined and said they were there for a quick meeting. When Nelson asked to use the bathroom the Barista said that it was only for paying customers so both just sat back down and waited for the person they were waiting for.
A police officer entered the store and spoke to the manager, both men thought it couldn’t be for them until the officers approached them and told them to leave.
“They said they calmly told the officers they were there for a meeting, and Robinson said he even called the person for whom they were waiting. But the officers repeatedly insisted that they leave, they said.
“It’s a real estate meeting. We’ve been working on this for months,” Robinson said. “We’re days away from changing our whole entire situation, our lives, and you’re about to sit here telling me I can’t do that? You’re not doing that.”
The officers ultimately handcuffed Nelson and Robinson, and escorted them out of the Starbucks and into a squad car before taking them to the police station. Both men were later freed and the charges they were facing — trespassing and disturbance — were dropped that night. ” – Credits: yahoo
