This South Korean president was accused of many corrupt actions like abuse of power and bribery. A judge stated that

“The president abused the power which was given to her by the citizens.”

The judge wants to set an example for future leaders so she gave the president a “tough” sentence. She will be serving a 24 year sentence, but others wanted her to serve at least 30 years.

She is guilty of 16 of the 18 charges she was accused of. She also had to pay $17 million in fines. She refused to proceed with her actions in court after they were going to live broadcast the judgement.
