Scientist have found what they believe to be the “oldest  modern” human fossil. It was found outside of Africa, they believe its around 170,000+ years old.

Artifacts like bones and stone tools were discovered in a prehistoric cave in Israel. Scientist believe the migration of homo sapiens occurred earlier than they assumed, about half a century sooner.

Rolf Quam a professor at Binghamton University stated, “We now have clear fossil evidence that modern humans moved out of Africa earlier than we previously believed.

Many different dating techniques were used to confirm the fossils age. The stone tools recovered at the site verifies the age of the bones. They believe that these early humans introduced the technology where they lived.
