There was a helicopter crash in New York City in the east river that happened on Sunday evening.  There ere five people in the helicopter when it crashed into the river. The pilot managed to get himself free before the helicopter got submerged into the water. The police say that the pilot was saved by a passing tugboat. All five passengers that were in the helicopter died after it crashed. The helicopter was being used for a photo shoot before it went down near  East 39th street. Three passengers were saved, but they were in serious critical conditions and were taken to a nearby hospital. Two passengers died at the scene.
