  1. They were once named the Dallas Chaparrals.
  2. Tim Duncan is known as ” The big fundamental” and played his college ball at Wake Forest. Duncan was  member of the 1999, 2003, and 2005 world championship Spurs Team
  3. The animal mascot for the spurs is a coyote. The coyote started entertaining Spurs fans in June of 1983. In addition to the 41- plus home games he attends each season, the Coyote made over 500 community appearances a year.

  10. Tony Parker played his first Spurs game On October 30, 2001, when he was 19 years old. Entering the 2016-17 season. Parker has spent 44 percent of his life with the Spurs.
  11. Manu Ginobili is one of the two players to win an Olympic gold medal , an NBA Championship, and Euro league Championship. The other is former U.S Senator, Bill Bradley.
  12. Kawhi Leonard is the third player in the NBA history to win both a defensive player of the year award and a NBA Finals MVP.
