The NFL Combine is where college students can demonstrate what there capable of, what projected draft round and pick are likely to get taken on or what team is in need of a candidate like him. This year’s candidates showed a lot of promising in the combine and look to show a lot of good talent for teas to pick in this years draft. Sadly no records where broken this year in the combine but still the combine always show a lot of what candidates are capable of and as we view this year performances we can see what is the best record for that exercise.

40-Yard Dash

John Ross, WR, 4.22 seconds

In last years NFL Combine, Washington wide receiver John Ross broke the record for the fastest 40 yards dash setting in a 4.22, breaking the previous record which was 4.24 hold by Chris Johnson, because of this performance he was picked in the first-round by the Cincinnati Bengals

Broad Jump

Byron Jones, DB, 12,3 inches

The longest broad jump ever made in the history of the NFL combine was by Byron Jones who set the not only a new record but a world record as well for the longest jump. His record was 12.3 inches back in in 2015 and was also close to breaking the vertical jump record as well jumping high at 44.5 inches

Vertical Jump

Gerald Sensabaugh, DB, 46 inches

Gerald Sensabaugh set the record as the highest vertical jump in the NFL combine jumping for a 46 inches back in 2005 and was pick in the first round

Three-cone Drill

Jeff Maehl, WR, 6.42 seconds

back in 2011 Maehl set a new record for the three-cone drill, finishing it under 6.42 seconds as he was drafted in the UFL draft and played for a couple of years between Texans and the Eagles’ roster

20-Yard Shuffle

Kevin Kasper, WR, 3.73 seconds

Kevin Kasper set the record for the fastest 20-yard shuffle back back in 2001, setting it at 3.73 seconds he was the fastest from his draft class beating the second fastest in the 2001 NFL combine by a tenth of second

60-Yard Shuffle

Shelton Gibson, WR, 10.71 seconds

Shelton Gibson put in a new number in the 60-yard shuffle record back in the NFL combine last year and beating branding cooks record of 10.72 which was so close that he beat him by .01 of a second

Bench Press

Justin Ernest, DT, 51 reps

in 1999 Justin Ernest set the record for most reps in bench press, for a 225 pound combine prospect he put in 51 reps on one go, for a 225 pound man he was one of the strongest both in the field and in the weight room
