The NFL Draft is rapidly approaching and many teams are looking forward to finding the answer to all their problems, and what better way than in the draft. QB is always a risky position to draft, let’s just ask the Browns. Since 2000 there has been 48 QB’s taken in the first round some have moved on and done some great things in the leagueand others just couldn’t live up to their expectations. Here’s a list of recent QB draft busts.

1 . Jamarcus Russell

Taken 1st overall in the 2007 Draft, the young star out of LSU was surely going to be the savior of the Raiders franchise right? Russell missed all of his rookie training camps and was nothing but a true disappointment if you ask me. Battling injuries that enabled him to show his true talent and left the league just 3 years after he was drafted. With only 18 TD and 21 INT, you can see why the Oakland Raiders chose to take another direction at QB.

2 . Brady Quinn

Drafted 22 overall in 2007, the Browns as usual thought they had their franchise QB with Brady Quinn, but that just wasn’t the case. Quinn would end up leaving the Browns after two mediocre years and would join various teams before leaving the league in 2014. With 3,043 passing yards and only 12 TD’s, at least he could tell his children he was a first round pick.

The Texans selected David Carr first overall in the 2002 Draft. I honestly feel like this was a case of joining the wrong organization as the Texans were an expansion team, Carr never really fit the scheme in Houston and it didn’t take long until the team decided to let him go. Joining teams like the Panthers and 49ers until ending up in New York as a backup for Eli Manning. If we’er looking on the bright side of his career, he won Superbowl XLVI.

Vince Young was taken 3rd overall in the 2006 Draft By the Tennessee Titans. The young star out of Texas looked to turn this franchise around in hopes of winning their first Super Bowl. After an outstanding rookie season and being awarded Offensive Rookie of The Year and being selected to a Pro Bowl, a title run only seemed eminent right?? Well unfortunately, this was a case of a one hit wonder as Vince never really got back into shape. His time as a Titan would only last 4 seasons before the team let him go, bouncing back and fourth several teams until being out of the league in 2014.

After an outstanding storybook college career  John Elway and the Denver Broncos went all in on Tebow Magic as he was taken 25th overall in the 2010 Draft. Tebow would spend 2 seasons with the Broncos, even earning them a playoff win, but was simply pushed out the the organization by returning league MVP Peyton Manning. Jumping from several teams in the NFL until being completely out of the league in 2015. With only 2,422 passing yards, 17 TD, and 9 INT, no wonder why he tried his luck in minor league baseball.
