The current Hueneme High School junior varsity volleyball coach is William Peni. He is also currently in charge of the textbooks right now. He is a great volleyball coach and has a vast amount of knowledge when it comes to volleyball he is a really nice instructor/coach. He is also a fun person who always makes jokes. So lets get to meet him.

1.How long have you played volleyball?

W: I have played volleyball for 9 years going 10.

2. What is your favorite memory in volleyball and why?

W: My favorite memory in volleyball is my Jr and Sr year of high school because not only did I work hard but it payed off. Also I made the first team for league on both years and I was awarded most valuable player for the league. I had the highest record for sets and assists that was a total of 287.

3. Who is your role model?

W: My role model is my grandmother. She helped me become the man that I am today and she passed down traditions and traits. She disciplined me and I wouldn’t be where I am today with out her guidance.

4. Who or what is your spirit animal? why?

W: My spirit animal would have to be a whale. I think so because many people depend on me to tell them the truth even when they are blinded by emotion. Also because I love the water and to be free.

5. What is your biggest accomplishment ? why?

W: My biggest accomplishment is coaching a variety of different students with different backgrounds at Hueneme and watching them grow and become a better person.

6.  What is your favorite food?

W: My favorite food is chicken. I enjoy eating chicken cooked any type of way because in my opinion chicken is really good.

7. What would you tell your 16 year old self?

W: I would tell myself that to stop acting dumb and to focus on school because looking back at my 16 year old self I was hanging with the wrong crowds and it wasn’t until Jr year of high school when I turned it all around.

8. Where would you like to travel? why?

W: I would like to visit Ireland to visit family and because I know that some of my roots come from there so I would like to discover that.

9. What is your favorite breakfast item?

W: My favorite breakfast item is an old fashion glazed buttermilk doughnut because it has always been my personal favorite.

10.What was your favorite school subject in high school?

W: My favorite subject was English because I am avid reader and I was always good at writing essays.
