It feels like it was just yesterday when I had to move back here to California. If you didn’t know I was actually born here in 2002. My parents were both in the military, so I had to move so many times, I left here when I was around 2. It was a hassle moving from place to place, but over time I got used to it.
It was a least one week before I had to move and I had say my final goodbyes to everyone I know. After that, I started to pack all of my stuff before they moved it on the truck. July 1, 2014, was the official day of moving. I went to the airport I had to take an hour long flight to Dallas. Then the 5-hour fight to LA in which I received my luggage, and had to wait a half hour for a taxi ride all the way to the Navy Lodge on Base.
Here is where the twist comes in. The next morning, I walked all the way to the new apartment and the movers were supposed to come. Unfortunately, the driver had a criminal record, so he couldn’t get on Base. I had to walk all the way back to the hotel. The day after that, a new truck came and they move all of our furniture. That was the start of the new life.
The process was a hassle, I have gone through it at least 5 other times. I wish that I didn’t have to move, but I didn’t have a choice. That’s the story of moving back to the place I was born.
